Referral Network

The Center has developed partnerships with organizations that deliver many community services. We use our expertise to help these partners develop their cultural competency to serve the LGBTQ+ population and then work alongside them to deliver services to community members.

LGBTQ Center of Bay County is committed to the ongoing process of compiling and updating an extensive resource directory listing supportive and friendly businesses, organizations, health professionals, legal services, housing and other resources.

In light of the unique challenge’s LGBTQ+ individuals face when seeking competent and affirming services, The Center maintains a comprehensive list of resources. Referrals will be made to agencies that are knowledgeable about topics relating to the LGBTQ+ community and have clear nondiscrimination policies.

Bay County is still in recovery mode after the devastation wrought by hurricane Michael. Our resources have diminished exponentially since the hurricane. Many businesses have closed. Many medical professionals have left the area. Housing is scarce and often cost prohibitive. We have severe limitations of our current infrastructure. The Center highly recommends utilizing the resource and referral services from two of our community partners, Doorways of Northwest Florida and Family Services.

Doorways of Northwest Florida operates as the Lead Agency for the Northwest Florida Continuum of Care. They facilitate understanding & distribution of federal and state funding available to providers in the community that are working to end homelessness in the 6 County area of: Bay, Calhoun, Gulf, Holmes, Jackson, Washington. We are providing a link to their website where you can find resource guides for each county.
