On October 10, 2018 Hurricane Michael destroyed much of our building and all of the contents. With your help, we started over. We rebuilt and reopened in March 2019. The community rallied and we held our first Bay Pride, first GSA Prom, first college scholarship fund and much more. The Center was thriving...until the COVID-19 pandemic.
Today the Center is needed more than ever! We are trying to meet new challenges on a daily basis. Together, we have:
- -Supplied more than 30,000 pounds of food to Bay County residents
- -Supplied 1,000 Covid Monitoring Kits that include: gloves, sanitizer, washable masks, thermometer, oximeter and community resource literature
- -The Center conducts clothing drives, provides emergency micro loans, housing, medical and legal referrals and more
- -We are combating isolation, depression and anxiety by holding support groups via Zoom
With your support the Center will continue to enhance and empower Bay County's LGBTQ+ population through programs, services, and resources. In addition to our civil and human rights advocacy, the Center hosts transgender support groups, youth-peer-support group meetings, cultural proficiency training, suicide prevention programs and many other services. The Center offers the only dedicated program for youth ages 13-18 in the Panhandle of Florida.
Thank you for your support!
